Museum Continues to Capture Old West Spirit

The Boot Hill Museum was founded in 1947. The museum has had quite an evolution; starting as a souvenir shop and transforming into a high caliber museum. The museum houses over 30,000 local artifacts and you can step back in time as you tour the buildings and view the exhibits. The museum is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. The remainder of the year it is open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sundays. Boot Hill Museum is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. If you are a Ford County resident the museum is free to you with ID. The Trophy Shop has been offering specialized awards and engraving services since April of 1974.  Richard learned the business while working for Pennington Sporting Goods which closed that year.   While Richard operated the business for eight years, his wife Marilynn joined the business as bookkeeper in May of 1982. Over sixteen years ago, Andres and Gema Lima moved their boutique that specialized in formal attire for weddings, proms and quinceaneras from California to 609 N. Second Avenue in Dodge City.  There was not a lot of local competition so the boutique filled an important need in the community.    With the expansion of products catering to men, women and childrens clothing, they relocated their entire operation under one roof.  Ensueno Q’ Moda Botique is now located at 612 N.
